Getting up herself...

This is a BIG surprise. Today, when she woke up, she....

... didn't cry
... climbed down the bed
... grabbed a handphone
... walked out the bedroom
... with mommy's handphone opened in her hand!

It's a big surprise for mommy and daddy!

(The Little One is having her breakfast now)

The Price of Children

Got this by email. Enjoy!
The Little One is priceless.

The Price of Children

This is just too good not to pass on to all.
Something absolutely positive for a change.
I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost
of raising a child, but this is the first time I
have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice.

The government recently calculated the cost
of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with
$160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker
shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.

But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down.

It translates into:

* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is
don't have children if you want to be "rich." Actually,
it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140?

* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm
cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or
chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles and flying kites.
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter
what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to:

* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:

* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watching Saturday morning cartoons,
* going to Disney movies, and
* wishing on stars.
* You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers
under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle
wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day,
and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck.

You get to be a hero just for:

* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a
baseball team that never wins but always gets treated
to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness the:

* first step,
* first word,
* first bra,
* first date, and
* first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal. You get another branch added
to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in
your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an
education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human
sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God.
You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters
under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground
them forever, and love them without limits.

So . . one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost.

That is quite a deal for the price!!

Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren and all
the little ones in your life!!

Fast asleep

The Little One is fast asleep now. I just came back from work. Lately, it's been trying to get her to take a nap. Sleeping early at night is also becoming a challenge.

Hmm.. she looks so peaceful. Think I'll take a nap as well!

This is a rather corny post...

On the way to Semenyih. It's a great thing that she still sits in her seat. Her faithful doggie companion on her lap.
"Some steamed corn? I want some!"

Taking a big bite. The teeth of the Little One really sinks into it! Beware her bite! haha..

Hmmm.. munch... Bet you can't do this! (oh ok.. maybe you can!)

Now... you did try to do it, didn't you!

Now this is what happens when you eat corn.. some will get stuck in between your teeth!

Cheers!

Hi-5! Let's Give It A Go!

It's Hi-5! This is her new favourite! It's an Australian kid's show with lots of singing and dancing. Pretty good actually. Here favourite song is Give It A Go.

Check them out here Hi-5

Astro really should bring it back. Our trusty DVDR will do the rest. Then we wouldn't have to get the Hi-5 VCD from Jusco.

Come on everyone.. let's sing along!

Give It A Go

We can build something
From nothing at all
To make a big idea
Something that starts out small
It might be a story, a painting or a song
Maybe it's a brand new way to move along

So come on, come on
Give it all you've got
Take it to the top
Give it your best shot

Let's put our heads toghether
We'll find a great idea
Bounce it up, toss it round
Try looking at it
Upside down
Bend it, shake it
Soon you will know
Something new and wonderful
Will grow-oh-oh-oh-oh!
(let's give it a go)

We can create something
From nothing at all
To find a big idea
We can start out small
It might be a poem, an invention or a dance
An amazing scientific technological advance

So some on, come on
Give it all you've got
Take it to the top
Give it your best shot

Let's put out heads toghether
We'll find a great idea
Bounce it up, toss it round
Try looking at it
Upside down
Bend it, shake it
Soon you will know
Something new and wonderful
Will grow-oh-oh-oh-oh!
(let's give it a go)

So many kinds of new ideas
Floating round your mind …
Let's put out heads toghether
We'll find a great idea
Bounce it up, toss it round
Try looking at it
Upside down
Bend it, shake it
Soon you will know
Something new and wonderful
Will grow-oh-oh-oh-oh!
(let's give it a go)

Kiara Park

This evening we went to Kiara Park in TTDI. It's a very friendly, well kept and popular park to go to during the evenings.

There's a lake, children's playground, a natural stream, man-made waterfall and even a suspension bridge!

I'm afraid to touch the ground! Don't let me down!!!

Ok.. I'll try walking.. Hey! This ground is soft!

Let me go! I'll run myself! :)

Guess what I saw? A beautiful flower!

After we got back.. The Little One was pretty tired. So where did she go?
She sat on her current favourite place.. on the styrofoam box! hehe

The Little High Tech One

Here's a shot of Samantha we took from a reflection of a CD.

Looks kinda cool!

She's also wants to grab hold of the camera and take photos. The Little Photographer in the making?

The Little Model for now :)

Say cheese!

What did they write about me?

What have they written about me?
(click the picture to view a larger version)

If only I could read...

Perhaps, I'll learn to write first...

Now, which hand should I use?

We're not too sure if she's left or right handed. Perhaps it's too early to tell. She currently does have a preference to hold the pen and scribble with her right hand. Come to think of it, she can also do it with her left hand. Ambidextrous? That'll be cool. Wouldn't it?

The Little Scribe at work... What an amazing invention, the doodle thingy is.

Something to do with flowers

Good Morning Baby!

Here I am with Daddy!

What are you doing to my flowers?!

Hmm. Let's see. I'll take the red one...

Hold it like a pen...

...and sweep the floor.

The Little One thinks in amazing ways.
