Merdeka Day

It's the 31st of August and it's Merdeka Day!
Merdeka also means that Samantha can go out for a ride (at least) :)

Check out my shoes!

Who? Me?
Yup! That's me! Posted by Picasa

Upstairs?

Since we live in a single storey house, the chance to go upstairs at Por Por's house is always welcome. There's a safety gate there to prevent Samantha's cousin brother Yang Yang from going up alone.

Samantha now also knows how to work the lock to this gate. She's a fast learner as well. Don't let her catch you doing or saying anything you do not want repeated :) hehe.

Upstairs! Let's go! Posted by Picasa

Hats and spoons

Usually Samantha doesn't like to wear hats. This time, she doesn't mind trying on a hat.

Took a picture before she changed her mind.

Here are 2 spoons as well. Posted by Picasa

A typical day

This is a typical day at home.
Wake up, drink milk, get changed, read books, play toys, watch a little TV, take a bath, eat some lunch, take a nap, wake up, play some more, wait for Daddy to come home, have dinner, play, drink milk and sleep.

Here's Samantha at her most comfy at home.

The Interview with God

Something for all parents.

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

"So you would like to interview me?" God asked.

"If you have the time" I said.

God smiled. "My time is eternity."
"What questions do you have in mind for me?"

"What surprises you most about humankind?"

God answered...
"That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again."

"That they lose their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health."

"That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future."

"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived."

God’s hand took mine
and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked...
"As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons
you want your children to learn?"

"To learn they cannot make anyone
love them. All they can do
is let themselves be loved."

"To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others."

"To learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness."

"To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them."

"To learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least."

"To learn that there are people
who love them dearly,
but simply have not yet learned
how to express or show their feelings."

"To learn that two people can
look at the same thing
and see it differently."

"To learn that it is not enough that they
forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves."

"Thank you for your time," I said humbly.

"Is there anything else
you would like your children to know?"

God smiled and said,
"Just know that I am here... always."

Bob The Builder

Watch enough of children's television programs and this will surely happen.

Bob the builder is now one of the family favourites! It joins the ranks of Elmo's World, Barney and Pocoyo!

Here's Bob's Official website.
http://www.bobthebuilder.com/uk/index.html

We also didn't know that there's a US version. I think the UK version (original) sounds better. Anyways, there was no real place where the lyrics can be found, so the Little One team here has provided this gift to all parents trying to sing along (or sing to their little ones) the theme song to Bob the Builder (without having to make things up)!

Bob the builder song lyrics (Original UK TV + website version):

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Scoop, Muck and Dizzy
And Rolly too
Lofty and Wendy
Join the crew

Bob and the gang
Have so much fun
Working together
They get the job done

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Pilchard and Bird
Travis and Spud
Playing together
Like good friends should

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Go to the website to hear this catchy song! It's guaranteed to stick in your head for a while.

For more on Bob and the gang, who have so much fun...
Check out their wiki.

Can we fix it?

Yes we can!

Alright... that's enough.
P.S. This is the page I now load when Samantha comes to visit me when I'm on the computer. She has a blast dancing to this tune.

Uncle

Samantha,
you almost said this word when calling Uncle Henry!

Rubik's Cube

Samantha,
you now can play with the Rubik's cube.

Here's what you do with it:
1. Take it apart!
2. Tell all the colours of the sides.

Sleep Patterns

Sleeping late.. Waking late in the morning.

wawabye.. wawabye...

Mummy

Dear Samantha,
You can now say "Mommy" and "Baby"!
(especially when you want something)

Daddy and Mommy

What is she doing?

What is she doing?
She's sitting on her Disney Pooh Push Cart (a wonderful gift from Little One's Daddy's friends).
We thank you all very much.

But what is she doing? hehe.

At times, she likes to sit there and have a ride.
She also likes making faces. Here's a combination of both!
