What's been keeping us up at night? Pre-Schooling!

1. Samantha
2. Samantha's coming birthday party!
3. Pre-Schooling for Samantha.

Pre-school. Dare I call it that? It's more of a play school or kindergarten but the fees tell me otherwise! Does it really cost that much to send a toddler to kindergarten? Does it cost more not to send her to school? Ok.. she's very eager to get to pre-school now. From her report at PJGH's Extension Class, she's doing well and only needs to work on some areas in her development (in her age group). Everyone's unique anyways, so we're not too worried :) She seems to be growing and learning at an accelerated pace at the moment.

Often during the day, she asks "Daddy/Mommy, today got school or not?" I guess she's just not used to having a holiday or cannot understand why someone would want a holiday. Now.. that's something I can learn from :)

She's also had a trial class for ballet at a dance school in SS3. This was recommended by one of the moms from PJGH's Children's Corner. Samantha's friend from PJGH's extension class goes to this dance school. Seeing that Samantha likes to move and dance, we thought that this would give her an opportunity to explore her talents, exercise, socialize, learn instructions and more importantly directs some of her energy to something useful. Well, she liked the trial class and now she asks "Daddy/Mommy, today got ballet class or not?"

Now, we need an outfit for her. We went to Brands Outlet at Ikano Power Center to look for a ballerina dress (is this what it's called?) for her. Found a pink/purplish one and it was the last one they had.

As for her birthday party, it's only a few weeks left before her birthday. She's eagerly looking forward to being 4 years old and we look to make this a (another) memorable party. Let's see how we can set this up.

We're back!

After a long break. We're back to blogging!
We've been busy with raising the Little One and the Little Guy among other things and now realise that there's no better time to record their lives than now.

So.. here we go!

Anxiety..

Samantha has been with the playgroup almost 3 semesters. Seems like she has this anxiety after every breaks. This anxiety will at least last for a week. We are wondering whether we need to enroll her some more activities especially during holiday breaks. Is that why she doesnt wanna go to school may be stay at home most probably make her lazy ?? or too much tv programs ? or too much time to play with her lil brother ? or .. hmm..

Any suggestion ?

Fake Measles Quarantine

2 weeks school holiday, but Samantha has to be quarantined together with Ethan, since Ethan is having fake measles. Daddy and Mommy now has to think of all kinds of activities to occupy her.

On this day, Samantha was supposed to have a swim with some of her friends. Daddy and Mommy were trying so hard not to mention anything about this matter. Surprising this girl woke up and said " Daddy, I want to swim.." Uh? Daddy was shocked!! Is this 6th sense ? Unconsciously she knows her friends are swimming at some place... Daddy and Mommy are still not sure why..

Well, we decided to set up the child pool for the 2 little fellas for a fast swim. They were having fun and enjoy the little pool. Daddy and Mommy just pray that you both can be healthy and strong everyday. :p

Playgroup progress

It's been 2 weeks after school started since break. Samantha is coping quite well these days. No more drama after bed/milk and after drop-off. We are telling her all kinds of stories to motivate her to goto school. Also with some help of her friends in school. Hooo.. relieved. Now she tells us not to follow her to school instead. Haha..

At last we have peace of mind about her separation anxiety issue. For time being.

Playgroup Separation

It's been long long time that we didn't update children's blog. It's always something to stop us to start to blog about the kids, especially for little 2.

Samantha has been to playgroup since Jan 2007. Mommy always with her to Children's Corner since last year. CC is only for children who are below 5yrs old and preferably they are accompanied by their mother. CC is on Monday and Friday. The extension class is at the same place but open for 4yr old kids. Since Samantha is a January child. We tested her and all agreed to try her for the extension class (tue, wed, thu). Another reason is that she is quite independent during the CC session.

Samantha is doing quite well on the first few weeks. Things turned sour whenever her father dropped her off to school. You know how kids deal with separation problem. Well, we kind of ignore it as a problem. Recently, she refused to go to school at all. I mean, she started to act angry or sad whenever she heard us mentioned the "SCHOOL".

Aiyah yah.. til now we been talk and talk to her about it for 2-3 weeks. Tomorrow school start again and it happens that she has 1 week break. Let's pray she will overcome it well and soon. Amen.

Langkawi trip - Day 4

Early morning we had breakfast in hotel. The breakfast is so so. We took the kids for a swim right after that. Ethan, as usual, didn't like water. Mommy and Ethan did some sand playing on beach under the beach hut.

The weather was so hot until we could almost down. Ethan couldn't open his eyes since the sun was glaring and hot. Poor baby...

Samantha went out to seaside with daddy. Daddy took some nice photos with her.

I brought Ethan back to swimming pool, hoping that he will more happy in there. Mmmm... nope. Tested him near the pool. Cry.. cry.. and cry.. haha.. Mommy had to bring you back to hotel for a tub swim. :p

We went for a tour to the north of the island. Hoping that we can see the sunset there for the last night here. Unfortunately, drizzling on and off on the way there. Managed to enjoy the trip up north and also took some photos. We stopped by some 6-star hotels for resting as well. May be we will stay there next trip. :p

Langkawi trip - Day 3

Swim swim swim again in Berjaya before check-out@ 2pm. Again late lunch at hotel.

Today we are checking-in to Langkasuka Hotel. 3* hotel but it has an excellent beachfront. Disappointed a little since lots of locals there, compared to Berjaya. :p

We drove to nearby areas around the island during kids' nap in the car. After that we headed to Langkawi Waterworld. The penguins were the main attraction there. Other than that, Mommy does not recommend this tourist spot, especially after some fish there had been poisoned recently.

Well, hopefully Samantha learned something.

Langkawi trip - Day 2

We were very busy on this 2nd day. We went for swimming at pool and this is a first for Ethan for the pool. He was not as brave as Samantha. He refused to go into the water. Totally. Hahaha.. He cried all time. Poor baby!!

Late lunch at hotel after the swim. Excellent lunch since we all were hungry at that time. After that we went out to 1st tourist attraction ~ the cable car which is located near to Berjaya Resort. It was a bit cloudy but still clear at times. We were hoping to catch a view of sunset from the Gunung Mat Cinchang.

The view is awesome !! Check out the photos !

We had dinner at Pantai Cenang, at one of the chinese seafood restaurant named Imperial. Recommended by one of the tour agent located in airport. We thought that we will become "water fish" this time. It turned out the seafood was good with reasonable price. At least mommy was enjoyed it, but not Daddy, who doesn't like much seafood. Too bad !!

Oh yes, 7Mar is daddy's birthday. We had a smallest birthday cake for him. A small cup cake. Well, at least Samantha enjoyed it. hehe..

1st trip with 2 kids - Langkawi

Challenging assignment.
Definitely. Tough but we managed to have fun and go through the days. :p

We stayed at Berjaya Langkawi Beach Resort for the 1st 2 nights. Excellent hotel and services. If we could, we will go there again for more nights. No rented car needed. We should have just enjoyed the facilities and beach during your stay. Instead, we had rented a car for the whole trip. At least this made the kids comfortable travelling around the island but not to our wallets.

Tired yet relaxing is the summary for the 1st day. We had McD for dinner in Kuah town and also purchased some mineral water and snacks for the next few days. We actually needed not bring many things, since Langkawi has most of the necessary things available for purchase at the supermarkets like at Billion in Kuah town. We had initially worried about the availability of items like milk powder and diapers for the little ones and had even packed some of these necessary items. :)

One thing to note for travelling with the kids on airlines. Remember to bring their identification! We were too busy on packing, and we forgotten their ic. Such careless parents. Imagined when the staff asked us for their identification during check-in, and we both stunned and panic. It's a good thing that AirAsia allowed the kids to follow. TQ TQ. Immediately we arrived in Langkawi, we called mama to fax their identification to us. Hoooo... or else we might not have been so lucky on the way back home.
